The Open Space Mediation Jam offers a safe, quiet, meditative hoop
space to local hoopdancers and flow artists, so that we may experience
the power and energy of shared ritual. This great tradition, based on
the community hoop jams that take place in Carrboro, NC, was brought
to the local NYC hooping scene by the wonderful Ann Humphreys. The
event consists of a well-crafted 3 hour long playlist that serves as
the backdrop to full, deep and completely undisturbed meditation in
the hoop.

Please respect that THE HOOP SPACE WILL BE A NO-TALKING SPACE. There
WILL be a demarcated space in the front of the building for
socializing and skill sharing. Blindfold hooping in the dance space is
both permitted and welcomed. Blindfolds will be available to borrow,
please return them at the end of the jam.

This is a very special and exceptional community arts space--let's
show our respect by treating this historic building with care.

Donations/Cost: $10
Help us keep this jam going! The Lyceum holds a very special place in
all of our hearts, starting the month off in a quiet, focused way.
That being said, to facilitate future jams we ask that each person
(this includes the organizers!) to please pay $10 for the 3 hours
(when you think about it, that's only $3 an hour for an awesome space
with great people!). This way we will be sure to keep each jam fully
funded!
