Tonight's GrooveHoops class will have a unusual contest, we will be raffling off a free ticket to the Black Light Ball 2012.

On Saturday, May 12th, please join Kostume Kult and Disorient for our annual black-lit spring formal and Burning Man project fundraiser, this year mixing microbiology (cell cultures) with all things electronic, luminescent, and musical. Explore your inner universe and the primordial ooze from which all life has sprung, bring out your microbial, protozoan best, and be prepared to dance all night in a high-tech, ultraviolet petri dish with one of the best sound systems in NYC, glowing UV creations, and exotic apparel.
DRESS: A faux-upscale event with an annual theme, this year we encourage electronics and microorganisms--glowing, throbbing, or flagellating. A black light party in a primordial soup can of creative, neon black tie where all effort is appreciated and imaginations are free to be wild...

BLACK & LIGHT BALL is a fundraiser for Kostume Kult and Disorient, both 100% volunteer-run art collectives. Proceeds go entirely towards creating our Burning Man theme camps and public art projects.
Kostume Kult is a costume art, theme event and media collective involved in public festivals, underground art parties and street theater events.

We create art projects and art installations with hardware including wood, scaffolding, palette racks, containers, recycled materials, your body, geodesic domes, inflatable structures, video, repurposed objects, black lights, and vehicles.
