Hello All
I'm new to this group. I am looking for Jane Cooper Womack & her
family. My line is from her brother Joseph Harvey Cooper. I would
appreciate any information on her & her family. I will gladly share my
Cooper data if any one is interested.
Thanks
Allen

When and where (approximately) are you talking about? I have a Jane
Cooper Womack maried to Hawkins Womack in Bedford Co, TN; they were on
the 1850 Census there. Jane had a brother named Solomon Cooper.

Rev. Solomon Cooper was born Dec 11 1801, died April 21, 1884 in
Pinson Madison Co, TN. He married Sarah H. Honnell Oct 24 1822. She
died July 5, 1875. He married Mary Cameron abt. 1877.He had two
brothers that I know of Benjamin Cooper and Joseph Harvey Cooper. He
also had two sisters that I know of, Jane Womack & Sarah Grisham or
Graham. Solomon Cooper did not have any children. He left his estate
to his church, his two wives and their brothers and sisters and to his
brothers and sisters, all named in his will. Solomon Cooper was born
in N.C. in 1801. His family moved to Georgia in 1806. Joseph Harvey
was born in Ga. 1811. Soon after the family moved to Bedford Co. TN.
In 1830 Solomon Cooper is in Hardeman Co. TN. next to his father in
law Peter Honnell (Honnoll)(Hunnel) In 1840 they are in Madison Co. Tn
Pinson Area. Abt. 1848 Joseph Harvey Cooper moved to Pinson from
Bedford Co. as well and bought a farm close to Solomon Cooper. The
time frame for your Jane sounds about right. In Solomon Coopers Will
of 1776, Benjamin Cooper apparently has died because Solomon has left
Benjamin's part of his estate to the children of Benjamin. All the
others are named directly. I am also not sure if Solomon was the
eldest, but their is a ten year gap between Solomon and Joseph's birth
that makes me think Solomon was eldest and Joseph was youngest.

The time frame for your Jane sounds about right. I have not been able
to find her around here and have been searching Bedford Co. thinking
maybe some of the family stayed in Bedford Co.
I went to Sammers web site but the links did not work. I can provide
more on Solomon and Joseph, let me know what you need.
Thanks
Allen

After selecting the surname index and then the letter first C for
Cooper and selecting Jane Cooper I got this message:
404 server error
Not Found
The requested URL /~dubbie/dat71.html was not found on this server.

I also got this for Hawkins Womack, then as well as again tonight.

Thanks
Allen

The reason is because I deleted the pedigree information prior to
updating to web - I only posted
an alpha listing - What information are you interested in on Hawkins
and Jane Cooper Womack??
Will give what I have via e-mail if you send me what you have to

samsawa
be glad to share. you just want names and dates or wills, deeds,
census, where buried etc. It will have to be after this weekend. My
lodge is having our annual golf tournament this weekend. It runs all
weekend. I will get back to you after the tournament is over with any
data any one needs on the Cooper families in my line.
Thanks
Allen

Thanks. You have given me a lot to work with. As you well know Bedford
Co. is a hard nut to crack at a distance. Any idea where Hawkins
Womack is buried?
Thanks

Names and Dates are fine - should I ever need any paper backup - As
long as someone has it and I know who and where;
I cant see me having copies also; unless later on down the line I may.
Thanks
