1) New Battalion Chief Vehicles:
During June the Division took delivery of 2 new Chevy Tahoes. The
vehicles are used daily by our 40 hour administrative Chief as well as
the on-duty Battalion Chief. These new vehicles replaced 2 older
units from 1992 that had combined mileage of 150,000 miles.... more »

1) Hydrants:
During the Month of May crews spent a great deal of time checking all
public hydrants in our running district. Spring checks include
flushing each hydrant and making certain it is functioning to it's
peak ability. The flushing portion of these checks results in rusty

1) Snowfall
On March 7-8th Central Ohio suffered significant snowfall, cold temps,
and dangerous travel conditions. During this storm we staffed an
additional crew on station to assist with normal day to day

1) Is It Spring Yet?
February saw several snow storms and Central Ohio's typical
temperature fluctuations. Several of these storms hit during peak
travel times, resulting in higher than usual run volume for our

During 2007 our fire companies responded to over 2500 calls for fires,
rescues and other assistance. Our average response time for all fire
