1) New Battalion Chief Vehicles:
During June the Division took delivery of 2 new Chevy Tahoes.  The
vehicles are used daily by our 40 hour administrative Chief as well as
the on-duty Battalion Chief.  These new vehicles replaced 2 older
units from 1992 that had combined mileage of 150,000 miles.

2)  Fireworks:
Several area firework displays will be drawing crowds over the 4th of
July holiday.  We like to take this opportunity to ask everyone to
honor all safety zones and instructions from those running each
event.  Illegal parking can impede traffic of resources in case of any
injuries or emergencies.  Persons getting too close to restricted
areas can place themselves and others in harms way.  Preparations for
these events start many months ahead of an actual show, with safety
for workers and observers a paramount concern.  We will have crews in
the area of all these events in our jurisdiction.

3)  Heat Injuries:
Its that time of year when temperatures will be rising and outdoor
activities will be routine for many.  Do you know the signs and
symptoms of heat related injuries and illness?  Visit
http://wfd101.com/newsbin/heatinj.html for more information.
