Transit to and from downtown is easy.  For the trip back downtown, walking a few blocks up the hill will take you to a bus stop (next to Wilson High School) that is served by about three different bus numbers.  Without that walk, there is a stop two blocks away that is served by the 44 bus (which is the one that passes near where I live).
