It has been that way for years. I plan on going. It is even that way with the picnic. There are more Gopd division players there also.

Not an excuse, just ho it has been.

I will message my coaches and ask them to send out a text to their teams.

Well with just 3 weeks B4 the deadline we need 20 couples to make this happen. Out of 200 members just 20 couples shouldn't be so difficult. So come show your support to the league and sign up

I was told the other day the reason for the lack of enthusiasm on the part of Silver Relics is the choice of music. I don’t know where that comes from especially since there hasn’t been a Christmas party since pre-Covid. So I conclude it’s BS. I heard no complaints about the music at the picnic. If, however, you do not like the music ask for different music.

So what are you guys doing on December 6th which is so important that you can’t kick for $53 for a great dinner and good time in addition to supporting one of our sponsors?

I honestly do not get why Silver members refuse to show up. Come tell us why or tell me - fx.prep.1968@gmail

Let me clear this up a little. The music was not the reason Silver members have not signed up for the Christmas party. It was mentioned that it could be a reason, but not THE reason. It could also be that a lot of the silver guys still work and may have other plans or commitments that they can't make it. Most of us still work and between ours and our spouses work party's and family commitments, they may not make it. I have been a member of the Relics family for 10 years and the Chrismas party's stopped after my second year due to low turn outs. That is in both Gold and Silver Divisions. I wish more people would sign up because I think the Christmas party is a good thing. It allows those of us who would like to see our fellow Relics in a setting outside of the field, but I will not look down on any member who decides they choose not to attend for whatever reason they may have.

So coming down to the final week for the party and it still doesn't look like it is going to happen, out of 200 members only 50 attending. I will post next week the final outcome and should we cancel the folks who paid will receive a full refund

With that said, if only 50 attending, then we could all still meet up at the Fish for a non formal Christmas party.
I could arrange for a food truck to be up there. I know it isn't a catered affair, but better than nothing.

The Relics need to get behind the work that Pat has done and sign up for this party.  A party at the Fish just isn't quite the same as the event that has been planned. Not sure how many more couples we need but I am sure there are enough people who would be available.  Walter Stewart.

While I was the public relations chair, I resigned at the end of the season, I signed up the Grille at Wilbraham Country Club as a sponsor and their banner was high up on the LF fence. I believed if there was going to be a Christmas party it should be there because no other restaurant bought a banner. We should support a sponsor.

I got 15 Gold Relics to go out to lunch at the Center square grille in East Longmeadow and no banner - so that should not be an alternative site.

Darrell Weldon encouraged supporting sponsors at Christmas and other times during the year. He believes and I agree that there is only one alternative that makes sense to us. If we lose the Grille the alternative is the Fish with Randall’s farm doing the catering.

Tom at the Fish for 10 years has sponsored and funded a team that goes to the Cape. We do support the Fish and Randal Farms is a sponsor.

So, hopefully we get the numbers for the Grille, if not in my view it’s got to be the Fish. I only speak for myself.

Pat and the board can decide.

Tom,
I think the Grille at Wilbraham was a great venue to have the Christmas party and sorry there wasn’t enough sign ups.
In my opinion , are plenty of opportunities for Relics to support the Fish ... going there for Christmas sounds rather ordinary to me.
In terms of poor sign up perhaps silver and gold might want to have separate gatherings as they probably have more in common with each other and enjoy different kinds of events
Just one man’s opinion
