Hi all,

First excuse the general tone to this email.  I am sending this to many different groups to simplify the distribution.

I just attended a conference and one of the sessions was geared for teachers on applications for "I" products (iphone, ipad, itouch, etc).

To give some preference to this link:

The site is broke up in stages (1 being the lowest).  So for example, if you have a child/student that has NEVER touched an i____ and you wanted them to have practice starting and stopping (yes that basic), you could find an app to do this

Each stage has a grid of recommended apps.

It indicates what the app costs, title, publisher, and description of what the app actually does.

At first it may look like it is all ELA based but it is not.  There is every aspect of education listed.  I am fond of the Stage 5 frog dissection app….

As more apps become available, more apps are added.  These apps are used by graduate students evaluating more than 1,000 apps so these are well thought out and thoroughly examined.

The best way it was presented was having the wiki site on the visual screen (computer ) with the presenter using an ipad to show the actual app and she would flip back and forth.

I was, personally impressed (not that it matters) and wanted to share with anyone that this might be of help to.

Here is the link

Thanks,

Cheryl Caira
