Subject: 2012 Aviation Weather Safety Conference October 2

Hi all,
This year's third annual Aviation Weather Safety Workshop will be held once
again at the Science Spectrum's Science stage on Tuesday, October 2 at 630
pm.  We have another great round of talks to be held this year which are
aimed at furthering aviation weather knowledge here in West Texas.  This
year's agenda is as follows:

   - Introduction to ASOS, Mike Samuelson, NEXRAD Electronics Technician
   - Aviation Forecasting in Alaska: Taming the Last Frontier, Charles
   Aldrich, Meteorologist
   - Understanding Military TAFs - Similarities and Differences with NWS
   TAFs, Matt Ziebell, Meteorologist
   - The dual polarization update to the WSR-88D, Jody James, Warning
   Coordination Meteorologist
   - Update on the West Texas Lightning Mapping Array, Dr. Eric Bruning and
   Jennifer Daniel, Texas Tech University
   - National Weather Service Facility Tour (Optional)
