Hi

In days passed, I have used "god" or "monit" to monitor / restart unix processes. Is there something better now ?

Cheers

At Youdo we've been happily using Will's Niet in production for ages now: https://github.com/willbryant/niet

Doesn't bloat, doesn't half-ass reproduce anything that the OS already provides, does what it says on the box.

I still use monit for almost everything (works, mature, stable, no real probs with it) as it also will relaunch services but if you're using lots of unicorns etc,

I also hear good things about bluepill with unicorn and nginx. YMMV

Daryl.
PS> Have to admit, I had not heard of niet before.

good things about bluepill, really???  it's horrible to use (esp with resque) and has a terrible name to google when looking for help.

I used bluepill on a project. It's not bad but I did have some
glitches with it. It's been a while though so I don't know what state
it's in currently.

I'm still using God for Favstar.  It does the job it needs to - but yeah, also horrible to Google.

Tim.
