Topic: Java Web Frameworks Comparison

Thilo Frotscher presents an overview and comparison of state-of-the-art
web frameworks available for Java developers.

Struts has been the most popular Java web framework for many years. But
it also has a lot of shortcomings, which have annoyed developers
increasingly.

In the meantime, new generations of web frameworks have emerged, and
today there is an incredible number of frameworks available. Some are
just trying to make things a little better, others are following very
different approaches. There's so much choice that it's really hard to
get an overview.

In this session, we'll have a look at some of the newer frameworks and
compare their key features and characteristics.

Speaker: Thilo Frotscher

Thilo Frotscher is a software architect specialised in Enterprise Java,
Web services and XML. He started using Java shortly after its first
release more than 10 years ago, and has over six years of experience
with Web service technology.

Working as a freelancer, Thilo spends most of the year contributing to
the projects of his clients, as an architect, senior developer and
consultant. He also delivers training, teaching both Java and Web
Service technology.

Thilo is a frequent speaker at international technical conferences, and
has written numerous articles for software development magazines. He has
published two books about developing Web service applications with Java
and contributed to another book about SOA.

Yours

John Hurst
