Attempts to describe how to run a webpy script as a daemon.. however I
don't think its complete because I can't figure out where to call the
daemonize function.

That's much better. It sounds like it's returning an image object, not
a PNG. image. Try returning str(avatar.image) or whatever it is.

As far as I know, web.py itself doesn't do "better" with one js library
compared to another.
I'll second the use of dojo. I use it at work and for "play". It makes ajax
calls very simple which is what I primarily use it for, but it also has a
lot of other functionality.
dojo.toJson and dojo.fromJson combined with the python library "demjson" has

As for a Pythonic like Javascript toolkit.. I was considering
Mochikit.. The thing that concerns me about it is it hasn't been
updated in a few years.. aside from that it look really cool.

My first two apps using webpy are going splendidly well (thanks
everyone on this list for all the help!) but now its time to add some
Javascript to each.

I'm looking at all the available toolkit / libraries now and before I

im getting nuts, whenever i post post problems 3 minutes later the
