Subject: Hidden text for security reasons
Hello Wysz

Here is a good one for you to solve.

You sell a particular security product.

It has a generic industry name that is used to describe it. For
example PIPER rated products.

You use this name in all the appropriate places on your site to
describe the product to your customers.

You have had for many years an excellent natural listing in this
category on Google. Everyone is happy.

Now a problem occurs in that the organisation that oversees the
accreditation and certification of the PIPER products decides that for
security reasons no product should directly use the word PIPER in it's
description.

The obvious is to remove PIPER from the web pages but all legitimate
customers will still be searching for PIPER products.

So perhaps we can use text colours to "hide" PIPER from the unwanted
eyes. Legitimate customers will search using PIPER and find a natural
listing that says "Approved" in the main heading and unfortunately
still mentions PIPER in the two line text description. PIPER is not
visible on the web site itself. The legitimate customer then uses
words such as "approved" to indicate which product pages they need to
click to on the web site.  Not ideal but we seem to have maintained
most of the customers who need to find us.

The latest problem is the PIPER accreditation organisation still does
not like the two lines of text in the Google search description and
wants the hidden text removed from the site also as it shows up with
control -A.

I am now at a loss as what I should do.

You need the PIPER text in order to be listed in the natural listings
but I need to hide it from view and need to get parts included in
ranking process but not actually mentioned in the Google natural
listing description.

Some bright spark at PIPER said "Oh use Google adwords". Great Idea
but how many customers will actually look at those compared to a 2nd
or 3rd place in the natural listings??

Kind regards
