Hi all:

I've been looking for a way to filter the results when using a gridedit. I read
something about isearch but I didn't find any example. Is there a "standard"
way to do that?

Thanks in advance.
Rafael.

An approach to get filtering working across multiple datastore-
backends has not been decided upon.

Meanwhile, you can check out the approach by Fremlin here [http://
groups.google.com/group/weblocks/msg/ea919f49de7554cc].

The limitations are that it only filters based on the what is visible
in the grid (technically, what is specified in the defview for the
grid). If you are willing to work with a javascript-required solution
(no degradation/fallback) then there are more options available.

Thanks, I'll take a look to Fremlim's solution. I think that whatever
solution you decide, it will be welcome.

Rafa.

Hi Nunb:

I've tried to test the solution from Fremlin but it seems that I need
to patch weblocks with "weblocks-dump.diff"
(at least because of dataseq-data-count function that has been
converted to a method). Am I mistaken?

Thanks again.
Rafael.

Yes, I believe that was one of the things he converted.

I thought I'd folded his diff into a lisppaste, or else he'd done it,
but I can't find it right now.

Do you have the limitation that the grid must degrade gracefully in
the absence of JS? I hesitate to post my code because it does not work
without javascript.

Anyway, patching weblocks is not very appealing to me :)

Well, my application has to run in Microsoft Internet Explorer and Firefox, so
JS is going to be available.

Thanks again.
Rafael.
