In case some of you were not aware: Google Wave is using WebHooks, in the form of what they call "robots", participants in a wave (which could be instant messages, email, a document, or include any kind of gadget) through HTTP hooking.

Unfortunately, these robots currently have to be hosted at Google App Engine. We'll see how the spec turns out when they allow hosting robots on your own domain.
