Hi All,

Recently we added some support [1] for webhooks to muti [2] (just for
new submissions, so far) and now I am wondering if there is any kind
of standard for some of the data that is to be sent around. If not,
since we already have an implementation going, is it a good idea to
set up a new guidelines page for social bookmarking on the wiki?

My opinion:

I think it's awesome that you are using json. :)
A standard that I can think of that involves webhooks is Pubsubhubbub.
Maybe there should be some type of wiki for a list of proposed
standards/formats.

Also, I think it's important to remember that these standards/formats
live on a different layer that webhooks.
And webhooks shouldn't be limited by the implementations/data formats.

You're right with us. Everything you said has been discussed and your conclusions are pretty much the consensus. There is a wiki: wiki.webhooks.org.

We've discussed that any "standards" or guidelines should be very clear about their purpose and what they accomplish. With that in mind, go ahead and make some new ones if you wish, and talk about them on the wiki. Mention what you do there back to the email list.
