Hi everyone,

They always say to never release software on a Friday. Thankfully,
it's still Thursday here, so I've got time to send this quick note:
we've just released first alpha of Selenium 2.

Some FAQs:

* What's being released?
Everything that we've done so far for .Net, Java, Python and Ruby

* How do I get hold of the Java and .Net libraries?
You can download them from the site:
http://code.google.com/p/selenium/downloads/list

* What about maven? Python? Ruby?
The owners of these components will soon be uploading these too.

* Why is this an alpha?
One reason: we're not done yet. We'd like some feedback on what we've
been doing, and the best way of getting that feedback is to release
something

* What's in the alpha?
A whole bunch of good stuff!
- badass WebDriver support
- a new standalone selenium server with remote support
- a version of Selenium RC that runs on Snow Leopard
- bug fixes galore!

* What do I do when I find a bug?
Please file an issue: http://code.google.com/p/selenium/issues/list

* Is there any documentation?
Yes: http://seleniumhq.org/docs/

* Who's to blame for this?
There's a list of people a mile high to thank for this. I won't list
them all by name, because I'm bound to forget someone. What I will
say, though, is that I owe a lot of people dinner.

http://code.google.com/p/selenium/issues/detail?id=14

* Why "2.0a1"?
Because we might be doing another alpha :)

Looking forward to hearing your feedback!

Simon
