Resize partition

Hi!

I copied the webc-5.7.img with dd to my harddrive and everything works
fine. Now I want to customize the filesystem.squashfs but the new one
is larger than the original and it won't fit on the partition created
while copying image with dd. I tried resizing the partition but it
breaks the boot process. Then I tried using syslinux to repair boot
sector and it seems to work but now right after boot menu (after
choosing 'Live') I get 'uncompression error -- System halted'. How can
I fix that? Is there another way to make the partition larger?
