Install to compact flash overrides MY home page setting

I'm modified my boot CD just fine to boot up to the home page of my
choice.

Then, by booting from the CD, I can easily install to a compact flash
drive (using a hard disk to compact flash adapter, and the "Install"
option off the main menu), but when the PC boots...the home page
reverts back to the original Webconverger.

How do install to compact flash, and keep MY home page?

Installing to a SD or USB stick from a CD is *not* right way to do it.

Typically I would:

1) http://download.webconverger.org/webc-5.5.img
2) Pop in USB stick into my computer
3) dd if=webc-5.5.img of=/dev/usbstick
4) mount /dev/usbstick /mnt/usbstick
5) vim /mnt/usbstick/syslinux/live.cfg
6) Change homepage
7) umount /mnt/usbstick
8) Boot kiosk machine with USB stick
