Peter
I need to set a FAQ for this question. :)
Webconverger doesn't support touch screen at the moment for two reasons:
1. Integrating touch drivers are often a _huge_ PITA. *Since I don't
have the hardware*, I can't verify the integration. :(
If it was a simple question of just adding a debian package, then
fine. But often enough it looks like:
http://home.eeti.com.tw/web20/eGalaxTouchDriver/linuxDriver.htm
https://help.ubuntu.com/community/EloTouchScreen
2. Webconverger does not have a virtual keyboard. I have looked into
adding one, but didn't get very far:
http://webconverger.org/blog/entry/Virtual_touch_screen_keyboard_for_Kiosks/
If any members of the community have anything to add please do. I
think I will create a http://webconverger.org/faq shortly.
In the next year I will have more time to focus on Webconverger and I
will look into purchasing some touch screen hardware.
Many many thanks!
That's interesting Marko, thanks for you initiative here!
I've quickly built a DEBUG ISO with your extension enabled.
https://github.com/Webconverger/Debian-Live-config/tree/touchkeyboard
http://custom.webconverger.com/FxKeyboard.iso
md5 c5db9fe4b82cdf8d64d16da3db4a4b45
I also created http://webconverger.org/addons/ so I don't spend a
Sunday morning trying to remember how to install an extension. :}
Be good to build a list of hardware which "just work" (OOTB). :) Since
you're a github user, perhaps you can curate a page on
https://github.com/Webconverger/Debian-Live-config/wiki ?
I did play around with a http://www.zaagtech.com/ device in
hackerspace.sg and tbh I was dissapointed to put it mildly.
Noticed one bug already with your extension, doesn't seem to pop up
the keyboard 1.) input type=url on http://webconverger.com/
Can I suggest you re-license under the MIT license? It's a lot simpler
to work with.
I need update http://webconverger.org/blog/entry/Virtual_touch_screen_keyboard_for_Kiosks/
now. There is a suck less project that I might want to integrate into
Webconverger http://hg.suckless.org/svkbd/ instead of an addon. Would
have to write some code/overlay to make it hide/show. Lets work out
what's the best solution here. :)
Thanks again, need to focus on Webconverger 12 now.

Is it possible to port the firefox virtual keyboard extension to the
chromium extension ? Thanks.
