Additional setup needed for printing?

Hi,

I've set up a CUPS server and I've added a network printer to that server. I can print test pages to the printer from the server's CUPS administration page.

My kiosk is unable to auto-discover the printer, and gives only the "print to file" option.

My server is set up to be completely permissive, with all browsing options on, broadcasting over all interfaces, everything Allow. 

Do I need some additional software, like avahi, to be able to auto-discover my printer/print server from my kiosk?

Hello there,

I tested this morning Webconverger 16 and it picked up the office printer.

I admit the "print to file" option is useless and we should remove it.

Can other machines (running Ubuntu for example), running CUPS pick up
your printer?
