The most important feature of web2py is that it is and it remain
backward compatible. Please do not suggest changes that will break
backward compatibility. It is just pointless.

If you want to use other modules like SQLAlchemy, Genshi, etc. ask
instead howto. You can do it, it does not break the license, it is
not difficult. I do not encourage it because it does not buy you much
and because your app will have third party dependences and thus it
will not be too easy to install as it should be.
