Hey all,

the "Connecting Arduino hardware to Flash and Flex" - workshop
will be going ahead.

Luckily with Adobe's US-based community team we found a sponsor
that helps us to subsidise the cost for Justin coming over from Sydney
so that we can offer the workshop for a much lower cost now - it's
pretty much covering the cost.

Codec Software Ltd in Wellington provides their board room as the
venue for this amazing workshop free of charge - many thanks for
that, guys!

Date: Friday, 18th of September - full day (9-5ish)

Venue: Wellington CBD, details to be announced soon

Price: NZD 150 - payable at registration

Please note that the price already includes a full kit of Arduino
hardware,
circuit boards and a multimeter altogether worth about NZD 100-120.
You basically get everything you need to start playing with it - bring
your own laptop though: Windows or OSX preferred, Linux possible
but not that well supported.

Seats in this workshop are strictly LIMITED to a maximum of 10
attendees.
(2 of which are already gone ;-)

A registration site will be setup soon - if you want to attend, let me
know
off list via email to k...@ventego-creative.co.nz now and you get on the
waiting list - first come, first served.

Presenter: Justin McLean, Syndey

Justin has managed his own consulting company Class Software for
more than 10 years and has a long history with Adobe/Macromedia/Allaire
products in particular ColdFusion (and still has the 3 floppies it
originally
came on). Justin is also a certified Adobe trainer for ColdFusion and
Flex
and runs regular training courses at Dynamic Web Training.

Justin is the most renowned expert on the topic in the AsiaPacific
region
and it's amazing what you can do with Arduinos and Flash-based
applications.

More info on the open-source hardware:

http://arduino.cc/

Justin has presented on this topic at various conferences and has done
full-day practical workshops on the topic.

Attendees would not have to be electronics experts, a basic techie-
knowledge and programming skills should be fine.

Cheers
Kai
