We just got confirmation today ... It's on ... The WCRC
Winter tourney is Sat. Feb. 7 at UC Davis.

Get your teams ready, and plan to have your rosters for
the tourney by Monday, Feb 2, 2009 ... Enjoy Super Bowl
Sunday ... But we need the rosters on Monday!

I don't believe that I sent this UPS, although I send the
USAR payments and membership via UPS for the tracking.

Hi All,

I have some of the team rosters, but I need everyone's
roster by Mon. Feb. 2nd.

I know there are some folks from SoCal / San Diego coming
up, but I need names, school, and which division.

"Anyone" can play as long as they are a full time college
student.

Hi All,

The UC Davis tourney is shaping up nicely ...

- Our special guest is Jose Rojas !!!
Jose is the 18 & under National Champion. He's also
ranked #23 on the IRT, having upset the #4 and #5 players
in route to his first semi final appearance. Jose is
playing in the tournament, and will be providing a clinic
on Service Philosophy; see the attached flier.

- Attached are the team rosters and the initial seeding
for the tournament. Please review and make sure we
haven't left anyone out. Also, the exact seeding may
change slightly to prevent players on the same team
meeting from too early in the tourney, however let me know
if anyone's seeding is way off.

Hi John,
Nice women's draw.

Looks like Christine O'Neil (Stanford) was left out.

Also, might want to double-check the seeding of Ji-Youn with the UCD
team. She swept the women's divisions in the 2006/07 season.
Not sure how much she's been playing since, however.

And I think UCD should be ashamed for hoarding so many women
players for their team. ;-)

Hi Matt,

Thanks for catching Christine ... I'll add her in ...

Ji-Youn did sweep the division two years ago, but I was going largely on
her team's ranking. I will bump her up a bit in the seeding, though.

Hi All,

Here are the details for the UC Davis tourney; draws and a
full schedule will be available Friday.

START TIMES, Approximate
- Players can arrive as early as 8:30am
- The tourney will start at 9:00am
- Sac, SJDelta, UC Davis, and Cal players will be starting
at 9:00am
- Stanford and UC Santa Cruz players will be starting
around 10:00am


ACCESS TO ARC
- UC Davis does _not_ have an open door access policy to
the ARC facility.
- Participants NEED TO BRING A STUDENT PHOTO ID
- Guests NEED TO BRING A PHOTO ID
- I will NEED GUEST NAMES by Friday afternoon.
- You will need to sign a liability waiver and get a wrist
band just inside the entrance to the ARC; there will be a
table set up for this.


TOURNAMENT COSTS & FOOD
Team captains will need to collect in advance either cash
or checks for the following, per person, and bring this to
the tournament:
- $10 tournament registration fee - checks made out to
"John Bardos" (I pay for the food, racquetballs, USRA
sanctioning, etc.)
- $45 for US Racquetball Association (USRA) membership -
checks made out to "US Racquetball Association". Yes, the
fee has increased, but the WCRC gets a portion when you
sign up at this event. This is only required if the
person is not already a USRA member; let me know if you
need assistance determining USRA status. For more
details, see http://www.usra.org and click "Member
Services".

Directions -
For most people heading north-east towards Sacramento …
- Take I-80 East toward Sacramento
- Merge onto Highway 113 (North, toward Woodland)
- Take the Hutchinson Rd. exit
- Merge right off exit
- Turn left on Larue Rd
- The ARC is on the right.
- Go into parking lot.

Lockers - People can use day lockers on a first come first
served basis and should bring their own locks.

Towels - You will need to bring your own towels.

NOTE: As with all of the facilities that we use, we need
to be careful about where we place bags, chairs, etc.
Please keep bags and chairs next to the courts, and away
from any exercise equipment, open areas, and walk ways; we
will make this more clear at the start of the tournament.

PARKING
Parking is free!

TEAM CAPTAINS: PLEASE plan to provide one or two checks
(separate tourney and USRA fees), or cash, for your team.
