Hi All Collegiate Racquetball Players from across the State!
Welcome to the 2008-2009 WCRC Racquetball season.
Our first tournament has recently been confirmed ... Saturday, October 25, 2008 San Jose State University
Wanted to check -- will we be using the Ektelon Classic (black) ball at the tournaments this year? I believe the CSRA just switched, and that is now their official ball -- wasn't sure if we've been getting balls through them, or directly from mfg to the conference.

This tournament has shaped up nicely, and we have new players from new schools! The draws, schedule and individual start times will be posted today.
TOURNAMENT START TIME The tournament will start promptly at 9 am, Saturday Nov. 8. Please arrive at approximately 8:30 am, and if you arrive on time you will have a little extra time to warm up on the courts.
TOURNAMENT COSTS & FOOD Team captains will need to collect in advance either cash or checks for the following, per person, and bring this to the tournament: - $10 tournament registration fee - checks made out to "John Bardos" (I pay for the food, racquetballs, USRA sanctioning, etc.) - $35 for US Racquetball Association (USRA) membership - checks made out to "US Racquetball Association". This is only required if the person is not already a USRA member; let me know if you need assistance determining USRA status. For more details, see http://www.usra.org and click "Member Services".
FACILITIES Lockers - People can use day lockers on a first come first served basis and should bring their own locks. There are also some coin-operated lockers.
Towels - You will need to bring your own towels.
Address - Event Center / Sport Club 408.924.6368
Corner of South 7th and San Carlos streets San Jose, CA 95192-0201
After you park in the 7th Street Garage, cross 7th Street and head slightly in towards the campus. The Event Center will be on your right.
PARKING Park in the 7th Street Parking Garage. This is near the end of 7th Street on the left. Parking is $8 for an all day pass. You have to go up about 2 levels before you reach the public parking. You pay for parking by using one of the pay stations on each garage level, at the corners where you make a sharp right hand turn to continue up through the parking garage; put money into this machine, get a parking permit, and put the permit on your dash board. You can also find additional parking options from the Directions links above.
TOURNAMENT RULES Due to time and space limitations, the following rules will be in affect: - Matches are 2 out of 3 games. - The first 2 games are to 11 points, and - The 3rd game, if necessary, is to 9 points. - All games are decided by 1 point - first player to 11, or 9, points wins. - Use the 10-second rule - 10 seconds between recovering the ball and serving. - 5 minutes of warm up time before a match. - Matches are self-refereed. - Men Div I will use the one serve rule. - All other USRA rules apply.
