I should have the duplexer, back from George, in a few days. The turnaround time for TXRX systems to convert the duplexer to a triplexer is about ten days. So, allowing for shipping time and getting out to the tower site, etc, we are probably looking at the last week in September for the DV box to become operational. This will get us on the air with 10~14 watts. I have a 50 W or a 100 W PA that can be added to the DV repeater, assuming we have enough power supply capacity. I will purchase a preamp for the DV repeater. Unfortunately, with the fast switching times of D Star DD, right now, there is no prospect for a PA or LNA on the Data repeater.
The 23 cm antenna is a little lower than the 2M and 70 cm antennas. The antenna is smaller, 11 feet vs 20 feet. Feedline loss is about the same as 70 cm. So, even with a LNA preamp and a power amp on the DV repeater, 23 cm won't do quite as well as the lower bands. Also, the effect of Polk County's numerous Oak trees could be quite noticeable.
I don't know who is signed up for the reflector. So, some of you may get two copies of this e mail.
