  <title type="text">How does the UE calculate SFN?</title>

  The UE uses P-SCH and S-SCH to know the slot boundary, frame bounday &lt;br&gt; and the scrambling code group of a cell. By trying out, different &lt;br&gt; scrambling codes in that group, it is able to find the scrambling code &lt;br&gt; to listen to CPICH as well as PCCPCH. Now on PCCPCH, the MIB is sent &lt;br&gt; every 8 frames. So the UE knows when SFN mod 8 is 0, there is a MIB

  Hi all, &lt;br&gt; This is a query regarding the MIMO transmission in WCDMA downlink. The &lt;br&gt; release 6 standard has transmit diversity scheme on the downlink. i.e two &lt;br&gt; antenna at base-station. In that scenario. Does the BS indicate the presence &lt;br&gt; of STTD transmission to all the users ?? Because there is a kind of &lt;br&gt; interference which the SISO users will face.

  Hi Ashwini, &lt;br&gt; &lt;p&gt;Firstly, WCDMA and LTE are different. &lt;br&gt; * WCDMA is has same access scheme i.e both we have DS-CDMA based &lt;br&gt; multiple access &lt;br&gt; &lt;p&gt;LTE has derived the HSPDA technology from Release 7 and from Release &lt;br&gt; 8 of 3gpp, the PHYSICAL layer mapping has been changed to avoid &lt;br&gt; multiuser-interference at high data rate transmission.
