Here is a modified route for this weekend.  Route turns left at 1725 and goes over to Hwy 150.  Right turn on Hwy 150 to FM 945 to Tapp road.  This by-passes both Dabney Bottom and Old Shell road.  Route mileage does increase to 95.  If we turn left on Hwy 150 and use the 2693 loop the route would be a century ride.

Jim,

Any idea on stops?..obviously the station at County Line/Rose (mi 26)
but can't recall any other stores offhand until well past the 60 mile
mark...

Has a relatively long stretch of 150 but there is a bit more shoulder
there now...

The distance between the break points #1  Rose road and County Line road and break point #2 Shell station at Old Houston and FM1485 would be about 60 miles.  The weather is forecasted to be in the low forties to mid fifties.  Should be makeable at those temperatures.  If not we can make our own rest stop at 40-45 miles from rest stop #1 or redo the route.  Let me know.

As I recall, there is a small country store along 945 at about the 55 mile mark.  It appeared to be open a few months ago when we last rode past.  If it is closed we could continue to 2025 and the Valero, which would be at mile 65. We would then need to backtrack to Torry Tap.

 

If we want to cut some milage off, I would suggest we turn right onto 105 off of Fostoria rather than continue going straight across 105.  I recall that it has a good shoulder and we would only ride it a few miles to Old Hwy 105 and then Daw Collins.
