From Paul Payton: Comment Via WBRU Web Page and the Google Group
Hi, I'm sending this out to (1) update Fred's still-wonderful WBRU site and (2) stir up our GoogleGroup a little. What's new with everyone? Here's the news from atop the Third Watchung Mountain (OK, a glacial escarpment 80 feet about average terrain, but in this part of NJ, it's a mountain!)... Just connected with Roger Norton on Facebook, another timesuck - Facebook,... more »

FW: from Marc Kirkeby
Another WBRU music director (from the '70s) gets his 15 minutes of fame. Worth reading, in my opinion.... Paul Payton '69 "Have Voice, Will Travel" 973-701-0707 (office) 973-879-0414 (cell) [link] [link] _____ ...Sent: Thursday, October 01, 2009 9:04 AM To: MK... more »

FW: "I Worked at WBRU" sent you a message on Facebook...
I may have mentioned this earlier, but here it is again.... I joined Facebook, and suddenly a WBRU reunion erupted! It has been fun being part of it; perhaps you'd find the same to be true. Details in Bill's message below. A Facebook membership (free) is required. To join, go to [link] and enroll. I always put maximum privacy restraints on sharing of... more »

FW: Ellie Greenwich, RIP - very sad news
In a hopefully-appropriate use of the word, I am truly shocked as well as very deeply saddened. WBRU group on Facebook
For Facebook members, there's an "I WOrked at WBRU" discussion group at:[link]   While it's mostly early '70s folks, it's open to all, and you might find some fun stuff there; I did.   Happy summer,   Paul Payton '69

George Taylor Morris, National Radio Music Personality, Dies of Throat Cance at 62
While not directly WBRU-related, GTM was one of my three greatest radio gurus. Although the article doesn't note it, he was PD at WHCN (short-term home of several WBRU alumni in the early '70s) from 1964-1976, and really inspired the station. He had been ailing for a while, but this is still a very sad day.... more »
