*The Mumbai Consultation on Women, Science and Technology*
Taking its cues from a vibrant and dynamic national consultation on gender
and technology held in Delhi, POV and FAT would like to bring together
various organisations, individuals and activists from around the country in
a regional consultation based in Mumbai.
Spanning two days, the consultation will include sessions on:
- Technology for Empowerment
- Sexuality and Technology
- From Sex Selection to Surrogacy (Reproductive Technologies)
- Disability and Technology
- Women in Science and Technology
- Internet, Activism and Rights
*When:* 15 and 16 December 2011, from 9.30am – 5.30pm (tea and lunch will
be provided)

What is a "feminist" approach to Technology?
It is a gendered critique of the design, use and impact of technology, as
well as empowering women to participate in its future. Equal participation
of women in producing and decision-making regarding technology is important
to ensure that widely used technologies do not affect women adversely.
