Monday, JANUARY 25th
7PM to 10PM
Here are some things that we presented in November:
* Ryan - Complete IRB. An "Interactive Ruby Console add-on" for
enhancing and supplementing tab completion results (currently under
development).
* Chris Liscio - OpenCL performance improvements (http://
www.supermegaultragroovy.com/blog/2009/11/12/swimming-in-opencl/), and
SMUGMath (http://www.supermegaultragroovy.com/blog/2009/11/24/
announcing-smugmath/).
* Joey Robert - ConwayJS. An open source implementation of
Conway's Game of Life (a cellular automaton) in JavaScript and jQuery.
A demo is available at http://joeyrobert.org/conway with the source
code at http://github.com/joeyrobert/ConwayJS. JavaScript and DOM
speed are hot topics right now so I created a very ad hoc browser
benchmark (http://blog.joeyrobert.org/post/235005635/benchmarking-
javascript-and-dom-performance-using-the) and tested the five major
players.
* Ilya Grigorik - The State of Ruby VMs: Ruby Renaissance (http://
www.igvita.com/2009/11/20/state-of-ruby-vms-ruby-renaissance/), a demo
of ChromeOS and using ruby-growl (http://segment7.net/projects/ruby/
growl/) for better debugging.
Look forward to seeing you all in January.
Happy Holidays,
Ryan
