Volleyball Enthusiasts,

                 We are now offering a BB/A division in our King and Queen of the Beach Tournaments as part of the Colorado Winter Beach Series.  As some of you are aware, the Winter Beach Series historically accepted 48-56 players for each event, predominantly representing A and AA competitors. These players compete for Grand Prix points and prizes awarded at the end of the winter including $1200 for the top male and female player.  As demand has grown, BB and A players have requested their own shift so we have added a third shift to accommodate more intermediate players.  This “third shift” will have its own separate prize structure (at each tourney) and create a pipeline for up and coming players as well as a shift of great  “A/BB” competition.   The best players in each “third shift” will not only receive prizes at their tourney, (instead of end of the year prizes) but will also earn entries in future main draws. Finally, it is cheap, ONLY $25, this is a super affordable tourney format.

            We hope this new addition includes more players in our Winter Beach Series and also provides some great prizes and competition for more participants.  We have one last King and Queen this winter with another 6-7 planned for the 2012/2013 Colorado Winter Beach Series starting again next fall.  Specifics of these new tournaments include:

• Men’s King of the Beach:  Saturday Evening, March 10^th
• Women’s Queen of the Beach:  Saturday Evening, March 17th
• THIRD SHIFT: For the players failing to get into the main draw.  This shift will be cheaper (only $25), have many prizes for each net, and the automatic berths for the top four finishers.   By adding a 3^rd shift, we will essentially create a fun, competitive “qualifier” division with prizes for BB/A players wishing to compete in the series.
• PRIZES FOR THIRD SHIFT (based on 28 team Oasis Draw):
• 1^ST Berth in next main draw, Spalding Volleyball and $20 Gift Certificate
• 2^nd Berth in next main draw, $30 Gift Certificate
• 3^rd Berth in next main draw, $20 Gift Certificate
• 4^th Berth in next main draw
• 5^th-8^th:  Spalding Volleyball for Top Player on net
• 13^th-16^th: Spalding Volleyball for Top Player on the net1
• 17^th-20^th: Pitcher of Beer for Top Player on the net
• 21^st-24^th: Spalding Volleyball for Top Player on the net
• 25^th-28^th:  Pitcher of Beer for the Top Player on the net

• 2012/2013 MAIN DRAW Next season we begin filling the main draw with the top 48 (Island) or 56 (Oasis) individuals registered for an event, minus any guaranteed berths from the previous event (4), there will be no more 1^st come 1^st serve spots for the main draw.  A 3^rd “qualifier” shift will be filled on a 1^st come 1^st serve basis and serve as a qualifying event for the next tournament as well as a BB/A Tournament with separate prizes.  From each qualifying event the top 4 will get an automatic berth into the next event on the schedule.  Players who agree to show up as a back-up for each event (can’t play qualifier event) will now be granted a berth into the next tournament in addition to $20 for their time.

JDRF, Coed Rotating Pairs, to benefit juvenile diabetes.  3 seperate tourneys, 6pm Friday, 8am & 2:30pm Saturday.  Not playing?  Come by for the silent auction and bid on items to raise even more money for the cause.

March 31^st:
