Notice for Election of President of Maharashtra State Chapter of Lok Satta Party through ballot:
1. Lok Satta Party, Maharashtra has decided to hold the elections for the post of President of Maharashtra Chapter of Lok Satta Party for the period 2013-15.
2. The date of election is hereby notified as SUNDAY, 5th May, 2013 between 10:00 AM and 05:00PM - The list of polling Stations will be declared soon to all members eligible to VOTE.
3. The election process will take place under the jurisdiction of the independent Election Authority:
4. The last date for submission of fully completed nomination forms is 15th April 2013 [up to 12:30 pm].
5. Forms for "Nomination" of Candidates will be available on payment of Rs. 25/- from Monday, 1st April 2013 till Monday, 8th April 2013 at the following address between 11:00 AM to 07:00 PM

Those desiring to offer themselves as candidates may please note the following: -
- It will be mandatory for the prospective candidate to be a Life Member of Lok Satta Party and shall have completed at-least one year as such Life Member prior to the date of this notification.
- The applicant must be a “Registered Voter" in the State of Maharashtra.
- It will be mandatory to submit the application in the prescribed Form;
- The form requires the applicant to make a declaration that the applicant has not in the past, and will not in future, indulge in any activity involving disturbance of public peace, public property or conduct offending public morality, including putting up illegal posters and banners;
- Declaration will authorize the independent Election Authority to invite "objections" by "Public Advertisement", if considered necessary, to the candidature of a member for the post of the President;
- Any applicant with the faintest taint of criminality will be disqualified forthwith;
- Any applicant inducing a voter to cast his/her vote by offering a reward in kind (liquor etc) or cash will be disqualified;
- Any applicant inducing a voter to cast his/her vote by indulging in divisive policies, such as, but not limited to, religion, race, caste, language etc. (i.e. playing vote bank politics) will be disqualified;
- Any applicant using illicit money for obtaining vote/s will be disqualified.
- Procedure for election, as declared or modified subsequently by the independent Election Authority will be binding on every applicant;
- The election will be held through secret ballot and on the basis of single transferable voting system.
- Primary members, who are members for atleast three consecutive preceding years prior to the date of this notification, only will be eligible for voting.
- Executive members, who are members for at least one preceding year prior to the date of this notification, will be eligible for voting.
- All life members, who are members prior to the date of this notification, will be eligible for voting.
- Applicant will have to pay an Earnest Deposit of Rs. 10,000/-, which will be refunded if the applicant is not approved as an eligible candidate by the Election Authority.
- The final decision about declaring any of the applicants as eligible “Candidate” will be that of the independent Election Authority alone;
