Subject: WE MUSLIMS LAG FAR BEHIND CHRISTIANS IN VOLUNTEERISM

I take off my Muslim cap to Christians: they have a far better and superior appreciation of volunteering in the service of God than we Muslims do. Yet we brag that ours is the rightful Religion, but we dont strive to prove it in action.
I am forced to say this in connection with my small Quran Donations Project. Round One involving Sh 21,000 went very smoothly.
It was while concluding it that I received an email offer from a prominent Muslim at the Coast who offered to join me in continuing the effort on his return from overseas. I gladly accepted and waited for his return.
In the meantime I received cash donations amounting to Sh 12,680 by mpesa for Round Two. Last week I mpesad Sh 12,600 to my sister with instructions to buy the books from Adam Traders and hand them to the person concerned together with the receipts and ask him to announce the same in our blogs.
Yesterday, I contacted the person by phone and informed him that the books would be delivered to him today and he told me to wait until he was ready.
How could I wait with people's money in my hands ? Is it right to delay a voluntary work for the sake of Allah for your own convenience ? For the sake of Allah entails sacrificing what you are capable of donating to His cause.
How could I responsibly keep on holding to this money while waiting for him to be ready ? What if I were to die now ?
It so happens that the Eastleigh route favoured by terrorists is the one I use whenever I go to visit Eastleigh. Suppose I perished without those books reaching the intended destination ?
And it is sickening that these same fellows lecture us in our mosques about voluntary service to Allah. Unfortunately they do not practice what they preach.
Anyway, I have phoned my sister who is buying the books today to hand them over to Jamal Omar in Mombasa who donated Sh 7150 out of the Sh 12,680. I have told Jamal it would be upon him to distribute the books.

NAFATA, your name in Swahili means I follow (nafuata). It is only right that I should be your leader and you my follower.
Did you say Muslims copycat Christian philanthropy? Where did you get that man ?
You are unaware that philanthropy is institutionalised in Islam as zakat tax for the poor. So we Muslims are definitely not following you. Try and get this right in your head: Islam is the perfection of all Revealed Religions, the last one being the Message brought by Jesus the Messiah.
And talking about who copies who, you Igbos despite your intense hatred for Muslims have adopted the Muslim fez or tarboosh, namely the cylinder type. You will find Chinua Achebe wearing it all the time.

“I take off my Muslim cap to Christians: they have a far better and superior appreciation of volunteering in the service of God than we Muslims do” – Warsama

One would think it’s pretty obvious that a murderous hate-filled pseudo-religious group that is preoccupied with killing people, would be less inclined to philanthropic service.

The fact is, even when Muslim groups engage in philanthropy it is either they are copying Christians, or have an underlying Islamist agenda for Jihadist recruits and to advance their hegemonic political agenda.

Hence the Red Crescent only exists because there’s a Red Cross. A few Muslim groups open hospitals because orthodox Christian groups (e.g. Catholics) missionaries have been doing so for centuries.

While many Christian groups which engage in philanthropy do so out of genuine altruism with no political agenda, the same cannot be said of many Muslim groups (Hamas, Muslim Brotherhood) which engage in philanthropy to advance their political agenda of hegemonic Islamist domination.
