Subject: Removing the GIANT ad in the lower right corner of the WalkJogRun map?
Hello everyone ...

Just a quick question here ... Is it possible to remove or decrease
the size of the GIANT square shaped advertisement ad located in the
lower right hand corner of the map display.  I know that this site
needs to utilize advertisement space in order to pay the bills for
bandwidth, etc., but c'mon ... does it really have to be located on
the map?  Possibly move it over to the side or allow it to be dimmed
out (i.e. made transparent).

Thanks,

august242

Hi,
I understand that some people don't like the ad but as you say, we do
need to pay the bills.  I believe I have an extremely useful
compromise on it's way but in the meantime if you make your browser
window a little wider (if you're screen allows) or a little narrower
then refresh the page you'll see the alternate sizes.  You might need
to experiment with a few different widths until the size changes.

Hey there Adam ...

Thanks for the response back to my question concerning the large
ad.  Sorry, but after using the site, I can now see that I jumped the
gun on presuming that the ad was permanently there while a user maps
out his or her route.  My bad.  :-(  Once again, I am sorry about
that.

I learned that once you begin a new route that it is no longer there
to obstruct that segment of the map.  Works for me.  I've been using
your site now for the last several days and I commend you on putting
it together.  Wish that I had this technology way back when I was
running high school long distance back in the mid 80's.  Back then I
spent a lot of time tracing out routes on a standard map (northern
Chicago suburb of Deerfield) and then driving each one to obtain the
milage reading via the car's odometer.

By the way, is there any way for a user to insert text into the
map?  I'd like to be able to insert a side note here and there on some
of the routes with regard to mileage / street conditions (i.e. pothole
here, blind corner there, beware of dog, etc.).

Thanks again for your time.

Take care,
