I am currently on 3 wireless (not much choice when ADSL is not
available), and occasionally have trouble getting to sections of Ebay
(namely anything cgi.ebay.com.au). I suspect this is a problem unique
to 3 as when I first contacted them, they could not access it either.

This is an intermittent problem but is damn annoying when you cannot
bid on items cos you cannot access the IP in question. I've done a
tracert which confirms this so what I am looking for is suggestions at
where I can point to for an alternate DNS. I recall suggestions of
alternate DNS servers being made in iinet.general when I was an iiNet
customer, but didn't save the discussions in my newsreader. If nothing
else, it will prove that 3 have a flaky DNS server and gives me an
option when it does play up.

I really don't want to have to talk to India to get support.

TIA :o)

Worked a treat! Was able to access the IP in question immediately
which confirms my suspicion that 3 has flaky DNS servers.

Many thanks :o)

A lot of people use OpenDNS , it could be a bit slower than normal , but it
is more reliable.
