After step 15 of the installation instructions

(15) You have the option of setting VUWER to transmit a set of image / IP data at every login.

I get

Can't make file (file "Startup2T:Users:markus:Library:vower:applescript") into type <<class fsrf>>

then the installation exits.

What do I do now?

I'm on macOS 10.8.3$

Thanks

Markus

Markus,

Ah, so the new account name must conflict with the POSIX path extracted by the installer.

Thanks for letting me know.  Fortunately, this is not an issue that the typical user will normally have to contend with.

Hi Tim,

I found the cause. If you renamed the account (by option clicking on the user name in the system preferences) at some point - then you get the error. I made another account and installed VUWER from there - lets hope I never need it, one burglary is more than enough.

Thanks for your work!

Markus

Markus,

For some reason the installer is failing to write the intermediary VUWER file.  This is the first time I've heard about this sort of error.  Many other VUWER installations have been completed in OS 10.8.x without any issues.

Can you give me some additional information about your hardware / software setup?  Is there something about your computer that is out of the ordinary compared to a typical Mac?

Tim
