Crystal Lake, Barton, 11/17, south end is better

Crystal Lake beckoned, with sun, cliffs, low winds, good friends, and hard, grey,  orange peel ice 5-inches thick. Some snowy mini-dunes to dodge or to “brace and glide” through. 

The south end is better, with far fewer drifts and is best accessed from the boat launch on Route 5. The photo here is in the northern half.
