
We met at the north end of this 760-acre lake (at Pageant Park). It was an especially satisfying skate with light orange peel hard grey ice 4 inches thick. As we cruised with a moderate tailwind southward the surface got progressively more noisy, (from clickety to clackety)but still solid fun. No hazards to speak of except a couple of 20 foot long puddles having popped up…easy to see/avoid and not threatening to swallow us.
Returning north into the 5mph wind was, well, just as you’d expect.
Tried my luck for lake trout later at sunset…nada.
