Large dense matrix inverse
Hi, I'm not sure whether this group is still active, but just giving a try. I need to find inverse of large dense matrix (about 3000*3000 complex or more). I have tried to use ATLAS (lapack and blas). But it is exceptionally slow. (I assume these codes are not cash optimized, and degrade performances, or... more »

cuda code takes forever to compile and consume all system memory
Hi, I am not sure if this mailing list is still active, but I have been stuck on this problem for a long time, and maybe some of you have run into this problem and can give me a clue. My application has a big data structure, namely, 63692 Bytes. My intended implementation is that each thread has a copy of this data structure with... more »

Are our accounts on ac.ncsa.uiuc.edu suspended?
I remember during the course Wen-mei mentioned that our account for the many-core summer school course will last till Aug. 16th. Since I forgot to copy one of the kernels files that I wrote for lab1, I tried to access ac for the last two days, but unfortunately, I cannot log on to it. So, does that mean all our accounts on ac suspended and all... more »

GPU cluster resources
Does anyone have any info on places we might get access to GPU clusters after the AC cluster login expires? Is anyone offering a subsription type service? Is there good ways my university can get free/cheap hardware for academic research? I would also be interested in a larger variety of configurations to test how certain changes... more »

Some Comments on Lab 3
Hopefully these comments will help sharpen the big picture of Lab 3. The first part of the lab sheds some light on the limitations of the binning approach from Lab 2B when used with non-uniform data distributions. Experimenting with bin capacities starting at 16 with increments of 32, this part explores the trade-off between the memory... more »
