Hi there!
These questions are being asked in different ways in the forum, I am still looking for a reason\solution

I am trying both the 16 layers and the 32 layers version of VPT on a pretty strong computer
Win 7
16GB RAM
Nvidia GTX 470
Lots of free space
using JPGs and 1 small QT (rendered out to photo jpg)

I am already in the gallery where the installation need to be set up, and now VPT 6 is slowing down / all the JPGs turn to solid colors before is stops and I need to restart...
Is there a way to read a log and/or try to understand where is my bottleneck?
I am sure its solvable with my strong set up, but I am really clueless on how to solve.
I appreciate any input
Should I try earlier version of VPT?

You could try playing with the refresh rate of the stills in the source tab. That's the number right next to the video/still toggle button.

Thanks for the reply!
I will try and see. But I fear counting on something which is for me, very unstable. I'm about to play a video mapped show for kids in a gallery. The press release is about to be published :-0. :)

Also, if you mix a still and a video it could give troubles. If it does, switch the sources (a & b) and you should be fine

You have an option, at least for 30 days, www.millumin.com its a excelent mapping software, i used to do a lot of mapping projects with it when it was in open beta.

Thanks Daniel. Will check and update.
Unfortunately Thelooca's tip was not really changing anything in the software behavior on my side.

Seems great but unfortunately I'm on a Windows machine...

The same happens to me.
Cant find a solution diferent of restart the program.
Just few layers stay as a solid color, but on others layers the images are ok.

And... I was using one source with video (180mb) and 5 images (200-800k each) on different sources.
