Thank you for all your hard work!  I downloaded 3.63 and it's awesome.  I still, however, can't receive news feeds through 3g. I can only get them through wi fi.  I can get weather feeds though.  I've tried every suggestion that was given to me and it still isn't working.  Is there any way possible to fix this?  I have a Nokia E72 on AT&T's network.  Thank you.

Just some observations...when using smart dial, any letter that is
associated with a number shows the number instead of the letter. For
example, my girlfriend's name is Crystal. If I try to spell it out, it
becomes C13s2al which doesn't return any results. Also, the issue of
pressing and holding the "1" button, to access voicemail, still hasn't
been addressed. Otherwise, great release! I appreciate all of the hard
work that goes into making this application available to us. (Nokia
E71x)

How many digits in your girlfriend's phone number and the first digit

Her telephone number has 11 digits and it begins with the number "1".
I have the full QWERTY keyboard so I played around with using the
"Caps" button to substitute the letters for the numbers it was
showing. It got really interesting then as it would give me both of
them. The number and the letter. Using that method, Crystal became
cR1Y3sT2aLI. The work around I found was to backspace the numbers, to
delete them, and then anything that matched "crystal" would display. I
hope I haven't thoroughly confused you now. Sometimes what I'm trying
to say gets lost in between my mind and the keyboard sometimes. LOL. I
also noticed another bug where the Torch function doesn't work with
the Nokia E71x.

Once again: Great app and keep up your good work! Thanks for it!

In version 3.63c (with E72) those bugs are still open:

- when a name is searched (e.g. Rob) the corresponding contact is
properly displayed. If you then push the "green" button on your mobile
a dialogue appears enlisting the various phone numbers of the contact,
which is again working properly. BUT: If you then select the desired
phone number and press the "green" button again in order to start the
call, all dialogues are closed and no phone call at all is initiated.
The same happens if you press the button on the top left (labeled in
German "Anrufen" = "Call" in english) instead of using the "green"
button in the last step.
The only way to initialize calls properly is to NOT use the "green"
button in the first step but to open the entire contact at the first
step. Then move to the phone number entries of your contact, go to the
desired phone numbers and there starting a call is working properly.
So right now I am using this way.

- If the keyboard is locked and you receive an incoming call, you can
open the line by pressing the "green" button, which is working
properly. If you or the person that called you is ending the call, the
keyboard lock is active again, which is also working properly. BUT:
After the automatic reactivation of the keyboard lock the vHome start
screen is not shown anymore like before the call. Instead of vHome's
start screen the original Nokia start screen is shown. To have vHome
start screen back again, one has to unlock the keyboard and then vHome
is restarting.

- layout of keyboard is english (my E72 has a german keyboard). Thus
no names with an umlaut (like ä, ö or ü) can be searched. Maybe this
is not a bug but a local version for german users is needed.

Bug information (vHome 3.63c on an E72):
End key not working properly like it did before (under 3.31). Of
course in Settings "End key:switch app" is turned on.

Example: End all running applications and go to home screen. Open
"Protocol" (it is an icon on my home screen) and return to home screen
by pressing the "home"-key (the one with the house on it). BUG:
pressing end key should now switch to protocol but it doesn't.

Holding the "home"-key for some time shows you the "Running
Applications" and there two are listed: a) Protocol b) Voyager Home
Screen. I.e. protocol is still running. But your are unable to switch
to it via the end key. If you choose in "Running Applications" the
"protocol" application you can still switch to it.

This phenomena is not observable with all applications. With some, all
seems to work properly, but with some not. I have not detected a
rationale behind when it's working or not so far.

This version doesn't work on my Nokia N78. It crashes immediately
after launching. And on particularly the second launch, it says,
"Settings data lost. Start with default settings?". But still crashes
after pressing "Yes" or "OK".
I didn't have this problem with the previous versions.

I have the exact same problem with AT&T. The news feed wouldn't update
but the weather feeds did. Baffling.

As an aside. I also noticed in earlier releases that both weather and
news feeds would work via AT&T on the West Coast (ie California) but
not on the East Coast (Atlanta). I think that it could be due to a
port that AT&T may be blocking. This release seems to have addressed
the weather path but not the news path.

I also tried opening a browser and going to wap.3gtb.com but that
didn't work (I checked that other sites work first)
It looks like when I try the site on my desktop that it redirects to a
page with port number 4080 which could be the problem. If it was using
the usual port 80, then perhaps it would work.

Thanks for that update. It's good to know it's not just my phone lol. Base on what you're saying it sounds like it may be a port issue. I hope there's a way to fix that.

Very good suggestion, should test port 80. Btw, NOKIA users in the
states? I hear there are very few of you? And getting smaller?

I tried to test port 80 but it automatically goes back to 0. I've used many different phones over the past 14 years, and despite the growing popularity of the iphone and the android os, symbian remains the best os on the planet and Nokia continues to make the best hardware. I will continue to use Nokia phones for as long as the company is around.

Hi everyone,
I'm so excited that so many of you have this great app working on your
phones! What would I give to also get it running!!

I have a Samsung i8910 HD running Symbian 5th edition, and vHome 3.63c
doesn't install on it. Will vHome be available on this device / system
some day? (Please, tell me it will!!)

P.S.: What about vMenu? Is this still in development? It's running on
my phone (I'm so happy!), but I was wondering if there are any
updates, and what is the latest version, actually?

Any other suggestions how to get news feeds to work over 3g?
