The best way to send light stuff with be through the US Post Office. It's only a bit more than sending it to Europe - at least when I checked a in May. I've heard of a flat rate box that works internationally if you are send a package or something that is heavier. Check into it, but no matter what valuables may get stolen, broken, and my mail will probably be opened. That being said, I HIGHLY RECOMMEND you number your letters, pages, packages, and include an inventory of everything inside because stuff can end up missing. Air mail works best cause otherwise, who knows when I will get it - boat and truck take a long time!
