Kudos to the tutorials.  I'm a sysadmin by trade... little to no programming experience, and managed to put together and publish my own app by working from the Vogella lessons.

 

About halfway through writing the app, I downloaded it to the phone, ran it for awhile, then turned the phone sideways.

 

All the data went away.  It was very amusing.

 

I searched around and eventually found OnResume() and a couple other techniques to prevent this.

 

Is there a part of the vogella tutorials that covers this?

 

Anyway.. great work!!  Keep it up.
