Dear friends and colleagues in Vietnam,
For everybody who is interested to study at ITC in course year 2009-2010 it is time to start thinking about the application procedure.
Fellowships for many of ITC's study programmes are available from NUFFIC under the Netherlands fellowship programme (NFP) , although we must point out that each year the competition for this is substantial and relatively few awards are available. The application for the NFP fellowships needs to be made via the Netherlands Embassy, from where an application form may be obtained. The form may also be obtained from the NUFFIC website, which also gives information on the deadlines for submitting the application (this is often more than six months before the commencement of the course). http://www.nuffic.nl/international-organizations/services/capacity-building/nfp/nfp-introduction
The eligibility criteria for NFP fellowships can be more stringent than the entry qualifications for the study programme (a minimum of two years professional experience is required). We strongly advise candidates to look for multiple sponsorship possibilities (i.e. do not just apply to NFP). It may be worth considering an application to the World Bank Fellowship programme, although you should pay special attention to the eligibility requirements stated. http://web.worldbank.org/WBSITE/EXTERNAL/WBI/EXTWBISFP/0,,menuPK:551559~pagePK:64168427~piPK:64168435~theSitePK:551553,00.html
Please find below some additional information and please do not hesitate to contact me directly if you have any further questions. You may also contact Mr. Tran Nhu Trung, ITC alumnus ( trannh...@gmail.com).
Kind regards,
Marjan

It should be noted that candidates who intend to apply for some form of sponsorship will be required to adhere to the deadlines imposed by the sponsor, and in many cases these may be as early as nine months before course commencement. |
Seven months before the
starting date of the course.
For applicants who wish to apply for fellowships
and thus need early notification of admission.
Three months before the
starting date of the course.
For applicants who pay by themselves and need a
visa to enter the Netherlands.
These fellowships do not apply to citizens of Honkong and Macao
The Netherlands Ministry of Foreign Affairs awards a number of fellowships annually under the Netherlands Fellowship Programme (NFP), with the specific intention of assisting participants from developing countries.
In brief, the application procedure consists of the following steps:
1.
Candidates
first apply to ITC for admission to a course. Application forms can be
downloaded from our website (http://www.itc.nl/education/register) or obtained from
ITC's Student Registration Office (email: educ...@itc.nl).
The deadlines for admission to ITC's courses vary. The course descriptions
indicate which deadline applies. ITC strongly encourages applicants to use
the:
ITC Online
Application Form: (http://www.itc.nl/education/register/procedure.aspx )
2. Acceptable candidates will receive a letter from ITC indicating that they have been provisionally accepted.
3. Candidates then apply for an NFP fellowship through the Dutch embassy in Hanoi or the consulate in HCMC. To do this, candidates must complete an NFP application form, which can be obtained from the Dutch embassy or consulate and/or downloaded from the NUFFIC website (http://www.nuffic.nl/nfp/). Candidates should submit it, together with all the required documents and information to the Dutch embassy or consulate in their own country. More information is available from: Ms. Pham Thu Giang, fellowship officer: 04-8315650 or han...@minbuza.nl.
4. Deadline for Master's & MSc programmes starting in September 2009 is 1 March! So please hurry to get first ITC's acceptance letter and then apply to the embassy.
Fellowship applications will not be taken into consideration without a letter of admission from ITC.
