Hi all, I am running vmware3.2 as well as windows xp. My machine is
dualboot and sp1 upgraded both ntoskrnl.exe and hal.dll making the
version number incompatible w/ the one that is available on the cd. I
have searched far and wide on finding the vmware compatible hal.dll
and ntoskrnl.exe. If anyone knows of a place where I can download
these and/or how to download and extract them from the windows xp sp1
update I would really appreciate it.

avi,

i had the same problem, running RH 7.3 and XP with SP1 on a dual boot
config with vmware 3.2. Try the following link

http://download.microsoft.com/download/whistler/sp/sp1/WXP/de/xpsp1_d...

This is the german version of the fixpack (130MB). Directory en_us and
file xpsp1_en_x86.exe for the english one etc. Start the self
extracting .exe and you'll find a both files. It works fine on my
machine.
