So G450 will work with accellerated calls, apart from the bug you
mentioned?  Correct?

Subject: What Video card(s)/drivers support DGA 2 correctly?

Hi, I am looking for a new video card.

One frequent discussion here is that VMware has no problem with XF 4.0x,
but not all 4.0x drivers fully support the DGA 2 standard.   I never see
it mentioned which cards do.

Matrox G400/G450?
ATI drivers don't fully support DGA 2, right?
nVidia?
3dfx?

I'm leaning towards Matrox, but before I buy it, I want to be sure that
I'll be able to use VMware in full screen accelerated mode with it.

Thanks.

I'm using a Matrox G400, and it supports the
accelerated DGA 2 calls that VMware uses.

Matrox driver ignores 'Option "UseFBDev"' for DGA modes. Otherwise it
looks OK. If you do not have G450, it will work for you.

There is problem that Xserver 4.0.2 with mga driver from matrox (which
supports G450) dies after you exit VMware :-( And G400 are not available
anymore.
