I'm running a Win XP Virtual Machine image on a Win XP host machine.
The XP host has two physical network adapters (USB and PCI) connected
to two different networks.

The USB network adapter is connected to a wireless network.
The PCI network adapter is connected directly to a different wired
network.

How can I make it so that the Virtual Machine only uses the USB
network adapter to connect to the internet. (I'd like to keep the
network load separate and dedicate the Host XP to the PCI NIC and the
VM to the USB).

Thanks!

Which variant of VMware are you using? It can't be ESX as you say the
host machine runs XP.

It's obviously not ESX, but could be either VMware Virtual Server/
Workstation...
btw, for network connections you use dhcp or manually configured
settings?

edit in vmware console, host virtual network mapping tab, set specific
nic to vmnet0-9

then you go to edit vm, edit nic settings, custom set it to a vnet0-1,
then ok

wulla..
