Do anyone have manuals (preferably in electronic form) for Datatrieve-11?

I possible, for V3.3, and for RSX. But any version, for any OS would be
helpful. I'm curious about the creature, and have gotten an opportunity
to play with it.

I have scans, I'll see about getting them uploaded to bitsavers.

Al. You are a goldmine. I had searched bitsavers, but I must have missed
them. Thanks a million!

Did that already. :-)
Also looked at the advanced help, which had more details. :-)

Really helpful, thanks Al. The one missing manual is the Call Interface
Manual, which is needed if you want to write your own programs that call
datatrieve. Anyone else happen to have that one?

OK, then - try HELP ME and HELPADVANCED ME

At a DECUS symposuium decades ago, one of the DTR11 deveolopers said that
the help for ME and ADVANCED ME were noticed by management, branded as
juvenile and sophomoric, and they had to take them out. Then they got lots
of SPRs complaining that they were missing, and the managers regretfully
made them put them back in. You just don't see this kind of whimsy in modern
copmputer companies...

Hmm. ME is obviously recognized, but maybe they tuned it down. The
"current" texts hardly seem that offensive:

.dtr
DATATRIEVE-11, DEC Query and Report System
Version: V03.03-07, 1-DEC-89
Type HELP for help
DTR> help me
For help with Datatrieve commands, type

HELP

For a list of the commands for which help is available, type

HELP HELP

DTR> help advanced me
No advanced help is available for ME. Please consult the
Datatrieve Reference Manual.
DTR> help advanced you
No help is available for YOU. See HELP HELP for topics.
DTR> help you
No help is available for YOU. See HELP HELP for topics.
DTR> ^Z
.

(I tried YOU just to check something that I suspected HELP would not
recognize.)

HELP ME used to return text to the edffect that Datrieve was not in the
business of conseling, and suggested you consult a metal health care
professtional.

HELP ADVANCED ME would snarkily reply that you are not advanced.

Once more, thanks a lot, Al.

With the help of these manuals, along with Datatrieve manuals for VMS,
some disassembly, and experimentation, I have now written an interface
from PDP-11C to Datatrieve-11. Much fun.

Since I've had atleast some fair success asking here, I'll try again.
This time it is more tricky. Now I'm really searching for V3.3 manuals.
There are some differences between V3.3 and earlier versions, which
makes me curious. Most specific is that there is a call, DTFREQ, which
is not documented in the V3.2 manuals (not even mentioned in the index).
I wonder if this is documented in V3.3. Or even a hint, if someone knows
what it is supposed to do?

I'm also looking for the reference manual for Datatrieve-11. There are
some differences from VMS Datatrieve, and the reference manual would be
the best source of details on how it actually works in Datatrieve-11.

So if anyone have some more manuals or documentation in any form, please
let me know... :-)

There's a couple of SIG articles on differences between VMS and RSX
here, but they probably don't have the technical detail you're looking
for:

p.s. apropos nothing, while trawling I came across the 1994 Mentec
