Hi,
as long as you use exec(), i.e. call the helper executables without
loading them as libraries/DLLs, there is no problem with Git being
licensed under the GPL, as long as you do not need to perform any
modifications on those binaries themselves. You may invoke any GPLed
binary executable from arbitrarily licensed code as long as you
communicate through standard means (i.e. pipes, sockets, etc.)
Best regards,
Martin
PS: This only reflects my understanding of the GPL and I am not a
lawyer.
